About Us

Short story

In 2014, Marc-André Caron and Jonathan Bussière decided to combine their passion for the small bricks to launch the first LEGO© fan convention in Québec. From the start, the idea was to create an event that would be a celebration, both for exhibitors and visitors.

The first two editions of what was then called Ciné Briques were held at the Cosmodôme in Laval. In 2016, the event was moved to Champlain College in Saint-Lambert.

In 2017, Marc-André Caron decided to leave the adventure and hand over the reins to Jonathan Bussière. He chose to assemble a team and reorient the event: new name, new image and new structure. The fourth edition took place in the former Future Shop store in Quartier DIX30 in Brossard and attracted more than 8,000 visitors.

In 2018 and 2019, the organizing committee opted for the Pavillon La Coop at Espace Saint-Hyacinthe, a place offering all the space our exhibitors needed. During these two editions, nearly 7,000 people visited the public exhibition which, at about 25,000 square feet of exhibition area, was the largest of its kind in Canada in terms of square footage.

The Legacy of Jonathan Bussière

On June 15, 2021, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jonathan Bussière, the great mastermind behind Brickomanie and Les Ateliers brickomaniacs, lost his all-too-short fight against cancer. Before leaving, Jonathan expressed the wish that his work continued, and it is today his brother Geoffroy who coordinates the team which picking up things where Jonathan left them before the pandemic.

Jonathan has certainly left an indelible mark on the community of LEGO® brick fans in Québec and even in Canada, and it is both an honor and a duty for each member of the Board of directors of Les Ateliers brickomaniacs to ensure that his accomplishments will last beyond his all-too-short life.

Our mission

We are LEGO® brick enthusiasts who, in pursuit of Jonathan's vision, try to share this passion with small and big fans of the small bricks, whether through our Brickomanie convention, our exhibitions Une tonne de briques and Deux tonnes de briques, or by les Ateliers brickomaniacs workshops.
